One Seriously Injured In Two-Vehicle Crash On LIE In Medford, Police Say

A two-vehicle crash on the Long Island Expressway seriously injured one person and hurt another.

Suffolk County police said one person was seriously injured during a two-vehicle crash on the Long Island Expressway.

The crash took place around 11:38 p.m., Wednesday, July 14, on the expressway in Medford, said the Suffolk County Police.

According to detectives, a man driving a Kia rear-ended a Toyota, driven by a woman, near Exit 65.

The driver of the Kia was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. 

The driver of the Toyota was transported to Long Island Community Hospital in East Patchogue for treatment of minor injuries. 

The crash closed westbound lanes until 6 a.m. Thursday, July 15, as police investigated the crash.
